What do we offer?
Our daytime programs, running 9 am - 12 pm for incoming grades 6-10 and 1 pm - 5 pm for incoming grades 8-12, will focus on putting on a musical in all its aspects, giving students the opportunity to try choreography, costume design, lighting and sound, stage management, and set and prop design and construction in addition to performance. Our evening program, for ages 14-19, with rehearsals on Sundays and Tuesdays, will focus intensely on acting in both scene and song. Weekend programming beginning this fall will focus on workshop intensives and on non-musical plays.
Shay Wainwright (she/they) has been active in theater for more than forty years. Currently, she runs the drama program at Lynnfield Middle School, which has tripled in size during her tenure. In 2024 she received A Healthy Lynnfield’s Champion for Youth award, nominated by the students for her role in supporting, encouraging, and challenging them to spread their wings. She has directed over a dozen shows in the last five years, including working with Our Lady of the Assumption School, Reagle Music Theater, and Colonial Chorus Players. Shay believes strongly in the way theater can create community, foster confidence, and give students access to new ways to express themselves.

Stage Combat Coordinator
Cari Keebaugh
Cari Keebaugh (she/they) is a SAFD-certified actor combatant who loves to help tell stories through safely designed violence. She believes that stage combat is for everyone and that every actor deserves to feel epic while performing their choreography. Cari has choreographed the violence for shows ranging from silly to serious and everything in between, from the slapstick humor of A King & No King (Theatre@First) to mass battles and axe-versus-claymore fights in Macbeth (Dream Role Players). Her other recent violence design includes non-traditional weapons in Mrs Hawking: Blood & Water (Breaking Light Productions), depictions of domestic violence in Verona Falls (Footlight Club), and fish slaps and flying popcorn in a boardwalk-themed Twelfth Night (Dive In Productions).
When she isn't teaching or choreographing punches, she's often throwing them herself as the titular character in the Mrs. Hawking theatrical series (available on YouTube). She also voices Eloise Trapeze in The Madmen's Guild series (on the PMRP podcast), frequently haunts audiences as various spirits in the PEM's Haunted Histories Halloween shows, and recently caused chaos as Perkins the Butler (Quannapowitt Players' The Play That Goes Wrong).
